Mountain riding along the old post route on
the Finnmarks plateau. 5 nights in mountain cabins. The tour is led by highly qualified
ruff riding guide. Accommodation in our lodge, the night before and after the tour.
Day
1: Arrive at our Lodge. During the evening meal the guide will
have the first briefing.
Day
2: The morning is spent provision our equipment and your guide will
teach you the basics of ruff riding. It's
time for a visit to the Sámi Museum and the Sami center in Karasjok. Once
your personal affects have been packed, your saddle properly fitted
for your comfort, you are off. The long riding tour starts
directly from the Lodge. After a steep climb up we are riding over a
hilly stretch, crossing portage between lakes until we reach Ravnastua
lodge..
Day
3: We reach the mountain plateau and tundra, a fascinating landscape
where your view is endless. Here the landscape is scanty and
windswept. In the evening we will arrive to Mollisjohk lodge. It
is a "jewel" located right in the middle of nowhere on the
plateau.
Day
4: The tour continues southwards along the river Iesjohka and we are
passing remote settlements. The Sámi people that live here get
their outcome mainly from fishing. We finish the day at Soussjavre
Lodge
Day
5: We
are going far off the beaten tracks, riding
over a hilly stretch, crossing portage between lakes. We
end the day at Baeivasgiedde wilderness cabin, which is situated next
to the river in a beautiful pine forest. We spend two nights here.
Day
6 We spend two nights here. This day we do a day trip with only lunch loaded into the saddle
bags. It will be an "discovery ride" in a interesting area.
Maybe we get some fish that give us some fresh food supplies.
Day
7: A long stretch along the beautiful river to Myrskog, the roads end.
A couch will bring you to the lodge.
A
warm sauna is waiting for us at the lodge, and we end the tour
gathered in the warm atmosphere to have a farewell supper in the
"Barta"
Day 8: The program end at breakfast.

stay some extra days for interesting activities as
lodge guest
before
the tour.
