A week on the summer plateau with the sled dogs as pack dogs — lavvu nights by an open fire, and fish from your own nets.
← All summer multi-day experiences

The sled dogs become excellent pack dogs on this trekking tour. Five nights are spent, everyone together, in a lavvu — a Sámi tent — with an open fire. Daily distances are between 15 and 17 km.
Some great fishing can be done in the numerous lakes, streams and rivers. Learn from your guide about natural phenomena, wilderness life and survival techniques.
Each participant is responsible for one dog, which carries 7–10 kg of your luggage — only your sleeping bag, sleeping mat and clothing go in your own rucksack.
The tour is off tracks in easy terrain, and demands a normal, good level of physical fitness.
The morning is spent fitting out our equipment, and your guide teaches you the basics of handling pack dogs. There is time for a visit to the Sámi Museum and the Sámi centre in Karasjok.
Once your personal effects have been packed properly, we are off: walking through birch forest, crossing small streams and along lakes. We spend the night in a lavvu, the traditional Sámi tent, with an open fire.
What is included on this tour is specified when you book — see the booking terms or simply ask us.
