Sled Dog Mushing · Day experiences
An extraordinary experience for independent spirits who relish the chance to learn new skills.

You are welcome to join in our daily life and spend some time with the Engholm Husky team. There is always a lot happening on the farm: sled dogs in training, puppies learning to socialise. You take part in harnessing, dog training, feeding, preparation and the other tasks of a dog musher. We train the dogs on tour about five times a week — new and interesting experiences for any dog lover, and the guides take time to teach those new to the sport.
As all the "repeaters" who come back to mush the dogs will confirm, the dogs really do become your best friends. This is real dog-musher life. We have a lot of fun; it is not an 8-to-4 job but a way of life. You will take home memories that last, and hopefully come a step closer to making your dream come true.
Autumn. Sled dog training with the four-wheeler starts as soon as the temperature drops below +15 °C. The mosquitoes are gone, the autumn comes in clear reds and yellows and the nights turn chilly. In September there is frost and snow up on the mountains, and the northern lights are frequent. Smaller private outings can be ventured on your own if you wish: hiking in the nearby countryside, canoeing and fishing.
Early winter. At the beginning of November we start out with the dog sleds, as soon as the lakes and rivers freeze over. On the sled dog tours we some days stop for a lunch break around an open fire. The tours vary in length and physical demands. On your own you can go snowshoeing, cross-country skiing (bring your own skis), walking or on a tour with a kick-sled, rent a snowmobile, or visit a Sámi family and their reindeer herd on the plateau.
Fill in the sled dog trip booking form and we will answer personally with a confirmation and the practical details.
